1) thats not in the skin, but in the base of gforge. i really would hesitate to
change that since it would mean patching gforge and make maintenance of the
system even harder
2) that was discussed on the mailinglist some time ago and we decided against it
since it duplicates the amount of work needed to keep it up-to-date.
when you use a email-client which can do proper threading you will have nearly
the same view, but everybody can choose his view, not being forced by one
interface of a (mostly badly written) forum software.

if i understood this wrong, please add more details.
