 Attached files (was in a bit of a hurry yesterday). Isn't defaulting to a
 non-UTF-8 locale a little 20th century-ish? Gotta say I was surprised that
 Freeing my communication only applied to US-ASCII languages. ;)

 When ssh:ing into the FreeRunner from my laptop, I get the same behaviour.
 vi spits out .. instead of any UTF-8 character.

 Chaning the locale on my laptop to ISO-8859-1 doesn't help. I get one dot
 (.) for each character outside US-ASCII.
