Comment:

 The best ways to approach this are:

 [1]  add the manual qwerty layout to qtopia kbd (used in qt-terminal) and
 change the input method in options
 [2]  allow change of kbd via settings, which can include a usable kbd for
 usage in terminals (see #1764)

 Holger, I think the best way to get this, within Qtopia would be to add
 manual kbd that qt-terminal uses.
 In qt-terminal, you can switch the kdb layout in the options menu, which
 completely changes the layout.
 It is there, we are just not using it.
