Of course, Jabber will be a topic, and the Jabber protocoll will be
a posibility to chare "accessable status information"
"work busy, work relaxed, home busy .. on the road"
maybe also reachable cheap - or very expensive (e.g. when I'm abroad).

So Jabber should get an own thread with many ideas how to use
jabber with OpenMoko/Beo1973

My idea to think about SMS was that communication via SMS will work
with > 95% of all GSM users, so (beside the costs) it will be a very
good communication tool.

Not every Neo1973 user would have GPRS 24/24h on, so even between
Neo1973 to Neo1973 could SMS make sence. But wait when your friend
has you in his "friend-list" you could make his Neo1973 swith
GPRS on by doing a data-call to him - the fist datacall inbetween
5 minutes periode will let the other Neo1973 to reject the incomming
call and to switch on GPRS. Then a Jabber P2P session Neo2Neo
via VPN would be possible.

Good night,
