Dies hat nun das Oberlandesgericht Karlsruhe in einer
Grundsatzentscheidung entschieden und damit einen mit Telefonfunktion
ausgestatteten Palm-Organizer einem Mobil- und Autotelefon, deren
Benutzung dem Fahrzeugführer im Straßenverkehr untersagt ist,
gleichgestellt.

Using of a PDA or similar electronic devices for the driver are forbidden
in Germany since this decision of the court in Karlsruhe on 4th Dez
2006.

  "Auch die Tatsache, dass der Betroffene zum Zeitpunkt der Fahrt das von
   ihm in der Hand gehaltene und bediente Gerät nicht zum Telefonieren,
   ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
   sondern bei deaktivierter Mobilfunkkarte zum Abfragen des Datenspeichers
   benutzt habe, führe zu keiner anderen rechtlichen Einstufung des
   Gerätes."

Ahh "holding in his hand"  - so when it is fixed with a cradel it is
still allowed to touch it. :)))
