Sounds like a great idea. I would love to get some usability feedback
from proper usability analysis on the current design.

Perhaps we can start a discussion on the openmoko-apps mailing list?
That is the mailing list for the "official" applications. Perhaps you
could post a mail suggesting some starting points and some basic things
everyone could try?
