A lot of businesses require case scenarios to determine their future 
actions. Weather is one of the factors that come in play here. For 
instance power industry need to know how much rain/sunshine/wind is 
predicted.

In some countries electricity becomes a free commodity when the nature 
is really giving it. This happens for instance in Denmark when there are 
storms.
