I copied my /etc/pointercal from internal flash (Which can be mounted from within debian as /dev/mtdblock6, I believe)
That worked for me. :) Hope that helps.
I wished that the openmoko team used Debian instead of openembedded.. I wish I could just apt-get stuff instead of having to struggle with opkg .. and busybox annoys me sometimes.
