OpenMoko case -- FYI re 3D CAD formats

regarding 3D model interchange file formats,
a friend who is expert tells me:

"IGES and step files are the universal exchange formats"

I can not promise, but... my friend has access to ProE.
It's conceivable I may be able to get his help
to convert native ProE to something else.
