Well if you can't beat them....Lock the phone up tight, run the price
way up and make out like a bandit.

Other articles on the net estimate the cost to build the 3G is ~$220.
That is depending on the article you read.

$599 for iPhone without a two-year contract, but still locked to the  
network. Imagine what the "real" price would be (for a fully unlocked  
device).
