Sound Gone on Suspend --- Any fix?

Hi all... I know that there's no fix right now for the sound gone on suspend
problem...  but I really need to suspend my phone as the battery runs out
really fast otherwise.  
I disabled the X screensaver (annoying!) and suspend, but haven't found
anything besides that workaround.
