The command seems to be better in /etc/network/interfaces :-)

Sample I have tested with

# ifdown eth0 && ifup eth0 &

# Wireless interfaces
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
         udhcpc eth0
         wireless_mode managed
         wireless_essid any
