the usb is v 1.1, which iirc will only manage 12Mbit/s, so either we
need to downgrade to a hopelessly low resolution, or put up with
excruciatingly slow refresh rates

best way to do a new screen would be to connect through existing interface

external gps antenna is definitely a go, though
