perl - segmentation fault

Hi, I am getting a Segmentation Fault running just perl from shell.
The install worked,

root at om-gta02:~# opkg install perl
Installing perl (5.8.8-r26) to root...
Downloading http://downloads.openmoko.org/repository/Om2008.8/armv4t/perl_5.8.8-r26_armv4t.opk

Configuring perl
root at om-gta02:~/libftdi-0.16# perl --help
Segmentation fault
root at om-gta02:~/libftdi-0.16# perl
Segmentation fault

My OM Distribution is 200804240820
I guess OM2008.8, just new from the case.

root at om-gta02:~# uname -a
Linux om-gta02 2.6.24 #1 PREEMPT Thu Apr 24 08:23:36 CST 2008 armv4tl unknown
