no, t9 is patented in it's entirety. ms office is not patented as a
whole, although some parts might be - ms do not own the concepts of a
word processor/spreadsheet/presentation editor

as raster and om have shown, there are other great methods to input
text; i'm sure someone can design more decent methods, without ripping
