Excellent audit and very interesting suggestion in a few hours, 
and just for free!!!!

I thank you very much.

I suspect that forking without redirecting stdin/out/err 
(as I did) causes some trouble during shutdown, because my 
FreeRunner hangs.

I will investigate and fix.
