As a temporary workaround (on Debian) i use this:
pkill zhone
/etc/init.d/fso-frameworkd stop
pkill -f frameworkd
pkill -f gsm0710
sleep 7
/etc/init.d/fso-frameworkd start
zhone &
Not sure if all the delays and actions are needed, it's anyway much
faster than rebooting.
