there was some discussion about the pinout of those things months ago --  
did that refer to headsets only?
and, i don't see headphones with 2.5 plug for sale everywhere.

but. of course, it's a minor issue.


only to make it absolutely clear: there is no way to modify a wired  
headset to make it work buzz-free reliable?
