Xfbdev+ALSA - which phone?

since FICOpenMoko seems to have gotten out of competition against ASUSACerHTCHuaWeiNokiaEriccsonSonySamsungLGApple in the phone dept, which is a suitable option for someone who wants 3G data and the ability to run anything?
N900 is $600, i'd rather get 3 $100-150 mainland-china/last-generation Android phones that at least have XFbdev going, pick the one with the best ALSA support, and have 2 spares, and spend half of what Nokia wants on something i'd be afraid to break/lose
perhaps a G1?
