CONFIG_ANDROID_LOW_MEMORY_KILLER troubles

Hi,
we had quite big troubles with andy-tracking kernels that have
CONFIG_ANDROID_LOW_MEMORY_KILLER option enabled.

This kernel keeps killing processes and prevents using swap space. This
option was added to support android, but it seems that it prevents any
other distributions to work correctly when memory is getting low.

This was tested with QtMoko v11 (which uses the same kernel as SHR btw).
After i had disabled this option (with other android stuff) the problems
went away.

Any ideas how to solve this problem? In QtMoko we can disable this
option but kernels for other distros should be fixed too.

Credits to Jim Morris who tracked down this problem.

Regards

Radek
