Subject: Re: Patent?<br>
<br>
One patent that Apple may be referring to is described here:<br>
<br>
<a href="http://www.macsimumnews.com/index.php/archive/apple_files_patent_for_wireless_ipod_with_ringtones_micro_browser" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)">http://www.macsimumnews.com/index.php/archive/apple_files_patent_for_wireless_ipod_with_ringtones_micro_browser
</a><br>
<br>
<br>
But the article doesn&#39;t say whether it was granted or still in the<br>
application process.<br>
<br>
And then there&#39;s this one:<br>
<br>
<a href="http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&amp;Sect2=HITOFF&amp;p=1&amp;u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&amp;r=1&amp;f=G&amp;l=50&amp;co1=AND&amp;d=PG01&amp;s1=20060268528.PGNR.&amp;OS=DN/20060268528RS=DN/20060268528" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)">

As I understand it, even if the patent hasn&#39;t been granted, it&#39;s still in force.&nbsp; One of our screwy USPTO loopholes says they can put &quot;patent pending&quot; on whatever it is, then screw around with the patent office... you can double or triple the time your patent is effective if you&#39;ve got lawyers who are good at stalling
