As I am aware of the origin of this photos, I can assure you this is the blogsphere creating news out of non news. These are quick clicks of the first time we booted Android at our office (before macro mode and manual focus was even tried). How they end up on engadget (some photos were mailed to friends and contacts who did not believe that thanks to the efforts of Sean, Brian and team running Android on Freerunner was as easy as flashing or did not believe that Android had been ported to ARM4/ Freerunner) with a story linked to Openmoko thinking of using Android, I dont know, but it gives a good idea of how rumor based stories are created by the professional and amateur press.
Dunno where people come up with this nonsense but I guess a press-release
or something would be nice. (Since it's silly to write a press-release
saying "we're not switching to Android", maybe issue one talking about
the latest stack release and the plans for the next few?)

Just to be clear: nothing against the people working on the Android
port. I'd never use it, but choice is good for the platform :-)
