Actions for gestures

I need some help.

I want to associate some gestures to some actions like:
1.mute audio
2.unmute audio
3.backlight on for display
4.backlight off for display
5.go to launcher
6.go to zhone
7.call actions

I tried using dbus-send for the Device.Display and nothing worked. Any ideas
on this, and the other actions?
How can I trigger them, as easily as possible.

I want to make another movie and post it on YouTube with the whole system,
demoing on the Freerunner.
