Hi,

using Om 2008.8 with zecke-dev updates I'm running almost out of memory
without any "real" application:

root at om-gta02:~# free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 123920 121816 2104 0 24 12104
-/+ buffers/cache: 109688 14232
Swap: 0 0 0

sorting ps output for the peak RSS shows a huge "hald"

# ps uax | sort -b -k 6 -nr | head
USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
45 1363 0.1 25.0 34188 31044 ? Ss Aug25 3:14 /usr/sbin/hald

whereas sorting for peak virtual size (VSZ) gives this picture (huge qpe)
