Gnome Network Manager on FR

Hello!
I want to have simple and convenient network management on my FR. I
think a lot of people do.
I think gnome Network Manager is the best choice - it has got all we
need, doesn't take a lot of memory and it talks dbus, what makes it
simple to write gui for managing connections (or use existing ones for
now).
I was trying to make it work, but with no luck and I'm close to giving it up :(
I use cnetworkmanager.py - it supports both 0.6.5 and 0.7 versions of
Network Manager.
0.6.5:
- can see that I'm connected by cable
- can see the list of wifi networks
- if I try to connect to one of them (open) it does nothing and second
call to Network Manager ends up with error that NM is not running.
After restarting NM everything repeats.
0.7
-it doesn't even give me a list of available networks

All I found was:
http://www.nabble.com/NetworkManager-on-Openmoko:-ioctl-SIOCSIWENCODEEXT-:-Operation-not-supported-td20162033.html
That suggests that the WiFi driver is not ready yet to support
standard ioctl communication. Is that right?

Does anyone managed to make NM working?

Leonti
