Error while autoconf on Ubuntu

Hello All,

Ubuntu system is giving error, when tried to do autoconf for generating
scripts for configuration.
(i run autoconf with configure.in file)

errors are as below

aclocal.m4:22: error: m4_defn: undefined macro: _m4_divert_diversion
aclocal.m4:22: the top level
autom4te: /usr/bin/m4 failed with exit status: 1

can anyone guide to get rid of above errors?
