since it's online again quite a while now (was only down a few hours)
just a short note:

it was to be a burned out psu on on of our VM-hosts.
we decided against 'recovering from backups' since that would have taken
longer (just to copy the data around) than fixing the real problem.

no data got lost or corrupted.
