Xephyr cannot open host display. Is DISPLAY set?

Hello All,

When I try to run the following command for 
running Qtopia X11, 

Xephyr -screen 480x640 -dpi 300 -ac :1 &

it says:

Xephyr cannot open host display. Is DISPLAY set?

What am i missing? Can anyone suggest some solution?
