Is git down?

I've been trying to

git clone git://git.openmoko.org/git/kernel.git linux-2.6

but all I get, after a very long pause is

Initialized empty Git repository in
/Volumes/cross/usr/src/openmoko/linux-2.6/.git/
fatal: read error: Connection reset by peer

I've tried it from two different hosts, one behind a proxy and one not.
