So far, I've been unable to send a rootfs to the phone. I get the
following when trying:

OpenMoko-dev:/mnt/hgfs/C/OpenMoko$ sudo ./dfu-util -a 5 -R -D
./openmoko-devel-image-fic-gta01-20070728230649.rootfs.jffs2
dfu-util - (C) 2007 by OpenMoko Inc.
This program is Free Software and has ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY

Opening USB Device 0x0000:0x0000...
Found Runtime: [0x1457:0x5119] devnum=7, cfg=0, intf=0, alt=5,
name="rootfs"
Claiming USB DFU Interface...
Setting Alternate Setting ...
Determining device status: state = appDETACH, status = 0
Device still in Runtime Mode!

In my current case, the development host is inside VMWare, so I am
guessing the problem is in the USB transition between WinXP and
VMWare(Ubuntu).

I've been able to dfu-util -l without any problems.

Hi,

i think it is irrelevant when to fire up the dfu-util, as long as you
changed the state of the
console input (that is "Set console to USB"), right?
Did anybody managed to gain remote ssh access to the unit? I am
constantly getting "connection refused"
errors, while trying. Btw. I have used yesterdays rootfs and kernel
images (2007_07_30).
