Hi,
I haven't done most of the things described.
I started with the wiki page wiki/Flashing_openmoko
     * Unplug all usb devices from the host.
Failure to do that gets a message ending:
Cannot claim interface: could not claim interface 2: Device or
 	resource busy

Make sure the dfu-util is not really old, old ones do not respond to
   ./dfu-util -V
mine said dfu-util version 0.1+svn2867

Have the file ready to flash, e.g. a command like this:
dfu-util -a 3 -R -D uImage......gta01.bin
dfu-util -a 5 -R -D OpenMoko......gta01.rootfs.jffs2

Have the USB cable ready to plug into the phone.

     * Hold the phone's AUX button and then press the phone's POWER
 	button.
You'll need to hold the POWER button for about 4 seconds
before the device will turn on.

     * The u-boot menu should appear, top line highlighted
Dont bother to change it, quickly plug the USB cable into the
 	phone.

Hit return on the prepared command.

When it finishes, if you have another flash commaand ready you may have
time to hit return on that, but usually	by the time I have
recorded what happened the Neo screen has gone black.
No Problem, to do another start again.

If you have all 3 flashed (boot once, to get a newer version than
supplied so no nand erase is needed)
 	Kernel occasionally, once you get fussy;
rootfs	quite often to see what is new...

Boot the Neo by press and hold the Power button. (Can do that immediately
after flashing, before it goes black).
THe series I am currently using is:
dfu-util -a 1 -R -D
u-boot-gta01bv4-1.2.0+git8993e54b6f397973794f3d6f47d3b3c0c98dd4f6+svn20070816-r0.bin
dfu-util -a 5 -R -D
OpenMoko-celtune-custom-image-glibc-ipk-P1-Snapshot-20071023-fic-gta01.rootfs.jffs2
dfu-util -a 3 -R -D
uImage-2.6.22.5-moko11+svnr2937-r4-fic-gta01-20071023145438.bin

(Browse in wiki/Repositories).

hope this helps,
clare
