Well, it's cowboy to just drop in a new CSS on an operational site like that.
The right thing to do is to have a development mirror,
upgrade the mirror,
test test test with different
pages of the site
fingers only no stylus
keyboard only no mouse
validate W3C compliance
On the other hand, maybe we all like cowboy style development.
But in that case, we should know in advance that if it takes 3 persons to fix
a CSS bug, poor the reactivity and painful the experience will be.
