Well I have a comment. If we had the "Semantic mediawiki" extension, we could
define the properties (name, short description, homepage, screenshot and so 
on...) on the application pages themselves. Then we could have both the 
detailed "Applications" pages and the shorter "Application directory" page 
automatically generated, plus uniform description boxes on the application 
pages.
