Ah yes, that requires audio setup too. There are some audio profiles
in /etc/alsa. So for "manual" audio setup, you could
alsactl -f /etc/alsa/gsmhandset.state restore
and then fine-tune with alsamixer.

Hmm, so the problem remains mysterious. Well, now we know that things
work at least sometimes.
