Yeah, it would be great if this documentation was public but I guess
there's not much anyone on this list can do other than letting Texas
Instruments know that it matters for her/him (and so can you, on
email. I think I'm going to try too. Maybe some TI support alias
should be CC'ed on this discussion).

BTW I posted proposed patches under bug #21. However, this argument is
not entirely correct because gsmd aims to be portable across different
modems as much as possible, and in case of SMS this is possible. So we
want to use standard AT commands as long as they work. In the
remaining cases I'm sure the core team people will take care of making
gsmd work with Calypso.

I think that even some of the uses of proprietary commands in
vendor_ti.c could be avoided and replaced with normal commands with
some effort (see %CSQ).
