Not so.

cat /sys/bus/i2c/devices/0-0073/battvolt

is ADC reading of voltage at +ve terminal of battery.

The voltage seen there is pretty ambiguous since it can be being
charged, accuracy is uncertain, and it is not calibrated to any
particular battery since we don't ship one we could characterize that
needs to use this.
