because it's way too late now ;)

I personally believe a 2.5mm jack is just the standard for mobile phone
headsets and thus is the right decision.  Especially since our [first]
device is not a multimedia-centric device anyway.  

For the 2008 roadmap we might have models with 3.5mm jack.
