Pie menus are a great way to deal with user input, but it's important that it is clear which button makes what. f.ex. if you take the firefox addon for pie menus (i think it's on
http://www.radialthinking.de/radialcontext/ ), they have a feature that if you tap and wait, then it displays a small description of each button. Another important thing is that it is possible to exit the pie menu without choosing an option.

I see pie menus often used in Videogams, but nearly never in other applications. One of the best implementations of this idea is the one in Neeriwnter Nights, which has context- and user-sensitive menus.
Antoher intresting implementation is seen here:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=12vFpBhWaVM . This is an Implementation for a multitouch device.

But i would like to provide the ability to disable pie menus: even if they are brilliant/grat/fantastic/whatever, most people don't know what to do with them. Because they are not much spread, i would like to have the possibility to turn them off.
