Shared Development Server

I'm not sure how well this will be received, but I've found
developing consistently in a mobile environment (many o'laptops) to
be very difficult, especially with varied environments that may or
may not work well with OpenEmbedded and OpenMoko (Mac OS X, I'm
looking at you*)

I'm wondering if there's any interest in either hosting, or putting
together (as a somewhat community effort), a shared development
server that would run Linux with the horsepower to give fellow
hackers the ability to develop packages for the platform, but to also
serve as a means of providing a "standardized" build environment such
that any barriers between a developer and their project rely solely
on them instead of build issues with OE, or otherwise.

It would also be handy if the developers could then "submit" their
development packages/patches for inclusion in a set of nightly builds
of 2007.1/2007.2 images such that the rest of the community could
then test out these built images and collaborate on issues presented
through both the bugzilla bug tracker but also pages like this:
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Phase_1_Software_Testing

It would certainly be nice if OpenMoko itself could provide such a
service, but failing that I can start asking around at work if we
have any extra rack space to colocate such a machine, otherwise I
will probably have to act on a quote given to me by Hurricane
Electric for a bit of rack space for such a purpose.

Gauging interest of course would help before anybody throws down the
money for the resources needed ;)

Cheers,
