Hello,

btw, concerning your interrogations in section 4 of the Wiki. It seems
to me that, in fact, bitbake first generates the entire cross-compiling
environment (the cross compiler, native tools, etc.) before starting to
cross compile. Furthermore, before cross-compiling nano itself, bitbake
also needs to cross-compile some of the libraries needed for nano (at
least libc, curses, etc.). This is why it took so long for a small app.

For a full image (like bitbake gpe-image), bitbake also generates a
linux kernel (for the ARM), applications, and packages them.

Just my 0.02...
