PalmOS-like data storage

Unlike Palm devices, this phone has a real filesystem.  We really
don't need the complexity of a PalmOS style registration scheme...

I've never used sqlite (my sql experience is all with postgresql), but
my impression is that it's just a library that provides an sql
interface to a file.  So you can just have that file be in $HOME/.prog
and life is good -- or you can just do your own configuration file
management.
