Exactly, the initial effort lies in understanding the make system for
phoneme-* or your jvm that you want to build with OE.  Then creating the
proper bitbake files to build the package in OE's cross compiling
environment.  If these java project's make files where more like other
opensource projects,  the bb files would be dirt simple.  Maybe they
are, I just need to know more about bitbake recipes and the particular
java project's make files...

Still, it would be nice to share the work or not duplicate effort.  I've
 created some bb recipies for jamvm-native_1.4.2.bb and
classpath-native_0.90.bb (since java (phoneme) needs java to build)
since I am not aware of a Sun opensource jdk that build's yet in OE.
