Yes, but the problem is that book really concentrates on python for
Symbian Series 60s AFAIK, which is an old stripped down python 2.2. That
said, with the very little fun I had with pys60 on my now dead ngage, it
 performed quite well. On a similar note we could have a project on
porting psyco or some JIT to ARM? but thats way beyond the scope of GSoC
IMO (or is that even feasible for that matter?)

Thankfully we need not worry about that as we have OE providing
different recipes for different parts of python. viz. python-core,
python-regex .etc, so we do have choice over the python components we
want installed in our devices.
