Somebody in the thread at some point said:

You would think we could debug an issue about connection to a network
that doesn't require any auth, if that's half the problem.
Unencrypted and WPA working with a manager will lead to smiley faces on
2/3rds of our customers, compared to angry frowns on 100% of them with
current ongoing situation.
