Somebody in the thread at some point said:

| Considering that we seem to be making good progress towards
| switching to stable-tracking anyway, I think it may be easier to
| just wait for that to happen.

| BTW, Andy, what's your prognosis for the switch ?

It's not stable-tracking but andy-tracking that we're targeting. The
difference is that andy-tracking is stable-tracking incorporating the
GTA03 stuff and changes that are pending upstream -->

~ - We didn't bang on the new suspend / resume enough. It's acting very
well here but I don't think I exercise all the cases like GSM wake
(although there were reports on the list of that being fine too).

~ - we have not banged on Balaji's changed driver code enough. It's a
very big change. He's fixed some longstanding bugs during this work
though we believe, like charging behaviour after BATFULL and improved
the case where we lost track if we are USB inserted or not when we get
the INS and REM notification together. But it would be strange if we
didn't get new bugs.

~ - I dunno that we banged on the new WLAN stack stuff enough either

~ - people still report WSOD on resume, which is surprising. The WSOD on
resume I knew is gone here since the Glamo GPIO fixes that made good
sense. So these must be coming from the same unknown and
device-state-dependent (temperature, allegedly) cause as the blanking
WSOD. It'd be nice to track those down.

~ - Video handling on resume is not right yet, it just blows it to
640x480 portrait. But just saving and reloading the regs should solve it.

~ - sysfs changes need handling (lack of them also impact Balaji changes
testing I think)

That's all the known issues in mind, situation is now pretty decent.
Folks fixed many nasty bugs in the last two weeks. It's mainly concern
about more testing needed left.

We will soon start making official test packages for andy-tracking to
widen the audience a bit.
