The hardware may support it, but does the firmware we have?  We are in a
situation we can't currently change the firmware in the field (nor do we
have any other redistributable firmware to offer).  How do we enable and
disable hard promisc mode if it is supported in the firmware?

If there is a list of features in and out of our firmware, can you send
it to me or point me to it?  I guess Sameo had such a thing but I have
never seen it.

Is this hard promisc going to effectively look like Monitor mode, or is
there no radiotap header prepended with packet metadata?
