[PATCH 0/7] Sean McNeil's 2.6.26 patches

Sean McNeil sent over a big patch against stable-2.6.26 that makes a few
things work better for him.  I chopped the patches up and added them to
the branch with commit log, everything else is his.

One patch removed the emergency dump code in the serial stuff, I think
we need that so I left it in.
