I agree that lindi and budfive did a great work tracking this down and
producing a working fix. Really :)

OTOH i'm still a bit afraid that this will needlessly increase power
consumption in some weird way, as suggested by that log. :-/ Also i'm
not sure why this fix is needed as there was working kernel revision
with the same driver and it looks like nobody's analised what change
actually introduced the regression.

All in all, for user experience including this fix is beneficial; for
development it's not because people become less motivated to dig into
this to confirm this fix is correct or to produce a better one. IMHO.
