kernel defconfig, debugging, preemption, and very noticeable speedups/ debugging

I second this opinion.
If the developers are afraid to lose debugging info from testers, then I 
propose that they supply an optional debugging-enabled kernel package 
for easy installation so that users can support debugging when the need 
arises.

But in my opinion, in every testing and unstable build image things MUST 
be optimized for stability AND speed.
Please remove debugging stuff from kernel ASAP.
As to compiler optimizations... well, there things get more complicated 
and must be looked at carefully.
