SOLVED: FreeRunner does not boot although battery o.k.

Thanks a lot for your advice - **I successfully managed to resurrect my 
FreeRunner using this method**. You saved me 300 bucks!
Nevertheless, the whole thing remains a mystery to me: When I removed the 
SIM, I noticed that the whole FreeRunner had become heated up - not burning 
hot, but much warmer than it got during normal use. I'd love to know what 
exactly went wrong with my phone today. Has anyone had the same problem?
